Probably one of the most hazardous parts of my job is running across shady electrical work - like what is in the picture to the left.
Here we have multiple wires in the same junction box, the only problem is that there are only two wire nuts... which means that one of the wire splices was completely unprotected and able to electrocute someone walking by.
When exploring homes on your own, be careful. Never assume that because something has been there for a while that it is safe - especially when it comes to wiring.
You should be able to trust your home inspector - after all, he is working for you, isn't he?
But many wonder if they are getting an honest home inspection when they hire an inspector. So how can you be sure that you have hired an honest, hard working home inspector?
Be sure to have your home inspector carry the InterNACHI Honor Guarantee on all of his inspections, like we do. Have questions on the program? Contact us!
